Gary Thompson Agency, Inc., a full-service independent insurance agency, recently donated their Lebanon office building to the U.S. Center Foundation, based in Lebanon, Kansas.
The Gary Thompson Agency has been in Lebanon for over 30 years and still serves several customers in Lebanon and surrounding areas. To give back to the community that has supported Gary Thompson Agency so well, the Board of Directors felt this was the right time to donate the building as Mary Stanley, former Location Manager in the Lebanon office, retired at the end of 2016.
Terry Thompson, Gary Thompson Agency President said, “We felt this was the perfect time to donate the building to the U.S. Center Foundation to show our appreciation for Lebanon and because we know the foundation is doing great things for the community and surrounding areas. We are very happy to donate the building and know it will keep impacting the community in a positive way.”
Gary Thompson Agency has been a proud supporter of the U.S. Center Foundation since its establishment in 2007 as an organization to work alongside the City to promote Lebanon, improve the community and build a Community Center. The U.S. Center Foundation’s Secretary/Treasurer Cindy Stones said, “We are so appreciative and grateful to the Gary Thompson Agency for this generous donation. The building is right downtown, in the perfect location and has a lot of historical value. If it wasn’t for gifts like this, we wouldn’t have the community we do.” The foundation plans to utilize the building to benefit the community, with intentions of possibly restoring the outside to its original standard oil station that it was in the early 1900’s.
