After seeing much of the devastation that has occurred across the state, as a result of rapidly melting snow, heavy rains and flood waters, we wanted to do our part, as an agency with locations all across the state, to help those who were directly affected. Although the flooding hit Nebraska a couple weeks ago, communities are still in the process of rebuilding and piecing their lives back together. We partnered with the United Way in an effort to help assist these hurting communities.
We urge others to help donate as well, whether it be your time, money, or goods. No donation – small or large – goes unappreciated. The Heartland United Way has put together a “Bank On Nebraska Strong Relief Fund” that allows people to donate to their hometown banks to aid local relief efforts. As stated on their website, banks and local United Way organizations will collect these funds and disperse them among local emergency management teams to help aid in the recovery and rebuilding of local communities. We are so thankful to live and do business in a state that helps out neighbors and strangers alike who are in need. All of the donations and support that have surfaced in the weeks since the major storm are a true testament to the character of Nebraskans – and while Nebraska might not be for everyone, there really is no place like it.
