Gary Thompson Agency, Inc., (GTA) a full-service independent insurance agency, announced effective May 1, 2018, it has acquired Junkin Insurance Agency, LLC, an independent insurance agency located in Bertrand, NE.
“We are thrilled to announce the acquisition of Junkin Insurance Agency, LLC. We couldn’t be more excited to continue supplying Junkin Agency clients with the high-level of insurance services they’re accustomed to, as well as providing additional markets and resources to offer more customized insurance solutions to the area. Bertrand is also a town that we have many connections in and familiarity with, so we are eager for the opportunity to partner with the community and continue to give back in any way we can,” says Krae Dutoit, GTA President.
Junkin Insurance Agency was purchased in 1962 by Dean J. Junkin who operated the business until his death after a short illness in 1982. However, Linda Heiden, Dean’s daughter, came on board in 1981 and became the owner of the business in the early 1990’s. Linda continues to service the insurance needs of Bertrand and the surrounding areas and is proud to be part of a family-owned business which has operated in the community for 56 years.
Along with Linda, Marge Broman will also be joining GTA as a previous Junkin Insurance Agency staff member. Marge will continue working from the Bertrand office as a friendly face for front of office customers.
GTA is also very excited to announce that Lance Thorell will begin working out of the Bertrand office on June 4th.

With this recent acquisition, GTA has grown to 19 locations across Nebraska.
